Ever since I went to @metcloisters I’ve been thinking about the medieval Spanish earthenware I saw there. The patterns and beasts have stayed in my mind and have me missing ceramics.

I somehow never shared close-ups of this gouache painting…so here it is now. This was a commission for a dear friend, featuring a mama moose and her calf, and a pair of mirrored jackalopes! 🫎🐇 Inspired by North American quilts in the folk ar
